Position overview:

The Information Technology Specialist must be able to manage and create policies for backup, antivirus, engineering software, security systems, office software, IP phones, network, and servers. The position also requires installation and maintenance of computer hardware. Everyone at JITECH is encouraged to promote teamwork, engagement, and collaboration with peers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create company backup policies (procedures).
  • Configure Barracuda to perform the necessary backups.
  • Troubleshoot backup-related problems.
  • Define company's information security strategy by writing procedures for required antivirus and security policies.
  • Install selected versions of antivirus software on servers and VMs.
  • Keep antivirus software up to date.
  • Respond to detected threats and provide solutions as needed.
  • Keep Bluebeam versions up to date.
  • Manage, through the portal, the users and assigned permissions.
  • Troubleshoot any problems that occur with the use of Bluebeam.
  • Maintain the camera server and BlueIris software up to date.
  • Troubleshoot camera hardware problems.
  • Keep up to date the applications on the phones that have access to the cameras.
  • Configure the system to deliver email alerts to designated users.
  • Manage users with access to open office doors.
  • Maintain traceability of access logs for delivery upon request.
  • Create all the necessary settings in SharePoint for new projects.
  • Assign users the permissions to access the new project through OneDrive.
  • Create and add users to mail groups and teams for the new projects.
  • Maintain company's structure in the office cloud (license, users, mail, etc.).
  • Manage the creation and deletion of users.
  • Configure the company's anti-spam policy.
  • Perform simulations of phishing attacks to measure user awareness.
  • Keep the SDS2 server running in optimal conditions.
  • Install updates and new versions of SDS2 on the server and user VMs.
  • Keep plugins up to date with the latest versions released.
  • Review process of project at the end of the day, as needed.
  • Solve any problems arising from SDS2 for the users.
  • Manage users and licenses in the SDS2 portal.
  • Manage the lines available on IP Phones (EPIGY) devices.
  • Keep EPIGY routers up to date and secure.
  • Assign extensions to users and configure their phones or eQall software on their VMs.
  • Resolve any problems with the use of the phones.
  • Maintain the security and functionality of JITECH's network.
  • Configure the network equipment to allow connection to all services provided to users.
  • Create new network points for new workstations, if necessary.
  • Keep the systems of all servers on hand updated.
  • Solve any problem present in the network or with any of the servers' service provider.
  • Maintain control and inventory log of equipment that the company is no longer using, and which is stored in all company's locations.
  • Maintain the thin clients in operations.
  • Quote for the purchase of new equipment if necessary.
  • Solve all the problems that may occur in the thin clients of all users.
  • Ensure all work is based on VM and resides on our servers.
  • Keep he users' VMs up to date and with all the necessary programs.
  • Assign and configure new VMs to new users.
  • Solve any problems with the daily use of users' VMs.
  • Manage all software license usage to ensure optimum utilization.
  • Resolving IT support requests from employees.
  • Answering employee questions regarding computer systems.
  • Gathering and analyzing data to diagnose problems with computer systems.
  • Updating employees on the status of their service requests.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical support role.
  • Working knowledge of VMware, Barracuda Networks, Cisco, Microsoft servers, SharePoint, and other office related software.
  • Certifications are preferred, but not required.
  • Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.
  • Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
  • Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time.
