Position Overview

The Project Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the commercial and operational delivery of structural steel detailing and engineering projects. This role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with contractual scope and client expectations. The Project Delivery Manager owns client relationships, project schedules, budget tracking, productivity monitoring, and resource allocation across active projects.

Reporting to the Director of Project Delivery, this position leads project control and project support functions, providing visibility into performance metrics and driving accountability for timely and profitable project completion. The Project Delivery Manager serves as the primary client-facing authority and is responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships and financial discipline throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Scheduling

  • Establish and maintain project schedules in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Identify schedule risks and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Track project progress across modeling, detailing, checking, engineering, and approvals.

Budget and Financial Management

  • Develop and monitor project budgets and cost projections.
  • Track productivity metrics and resource utilization.
  • Monitor labor performance against estimates and identify variances.
  • Support revenue forecasting and financial reporting in coordination with finance.

Resource Management and Productivity

  • Allocate resources across projects to optimize workload balance and efficiency.
  • Monitor team productivity and capacity planning in collaboration with Project Execution leadership.
  • Use project management tools to assign and track tasks.
  • Collect and analyze historical performance data to improve estimating accuracy.

Client Relationship and Commercial Oversight

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead client kickoff meetings and ongoing project coordination discussions.
  • Manage scope negotiation and change order pricing in coordination with technical leadership.
  • Ensure clear communication of project status, schedule updates, and commercial impacts.
  • Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership and Management (LMA)

  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable Project Support Technicians.
  • Ensure proper document tracking, billing support, and communication workflows are maintained.
  • Establish performance expectations aligned with schedule and financial targets.
  • Drive process improvements related to project tracking and delivery systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in project management, project control, or operational leadership within structural steel detailing or construction.
  • Proven experience managing schedules, budgets, and resource allocation in multi-project environments.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel detailing workflows, including RFIs, ECNs, approvals, and revision cycles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, Excel, Bluebeam, and project tracking systems.
  • Working knowledge of structural steel project documentation and contract management practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and related collaboration tools.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
